Here are a few of the latest flakes to fall around the Shoppe. If you've experienced a spiritual awakening as the result of your personal velocity let us know. We will reprint your article. Please keep it appropriate for broad audiences. Oh yeah, No profanity, OK?

Web Audience Wowed

Our new website, targeted primarily at 16-24 year old snowboarders, (that must be YOU!) has become an absolute hit! We've been ravaged by a cool set of rads from the 2-legged crowd, (skiers), and our first cousins, (skateboarders); and some extreme dudes from the moto-rad-moto-cross world (you know jump bike, leave bike, fly with bike, then hopefully land with bike with butt on seat!).

Everyone in these groups wants to get hot on the board. Many have signed up for our week-long Camp de Velocity. So far we have beginners, intermediates and experts alike signed up. Perhaps we underestimated our customers' desire to use the web. Most everyone enrolled on the web-site and then followed up with e-mails with specific questions.

See the article below for details a about the camp.

We've receive feedback daily from our surfers and members about the new format and artwork. Everyone and mean EVERYONE is blown away by the opening sequence. We have a lot of suggestions for other aspects of the site and are taking these under consideration. Meanwhile, Velocity thanks all our readers and surfers for your input. Without you there'd be no site.

Velocity Joins Unique Business Coalition at Bear Mountain

Velocity Snowgear's most recent brick-n-mortar shoppe came alive at Bear Mountain in southern California. This new shoppe brings in a newness and fresh approach to all gear form years of experience at Rainer and Keystone. Velocity has been invited to join the Bear Mountain Business Coalition; a prestigious community leadership group that insures Bear Mountain customers are treated to quality products and service from all the vendors doing business at the Bear.

Among the many community activities served by the coalition, each business pledges to support and enforce the "totally-green" regulations at the Mountain and in the surrounding communities. The business coalition literally helps police the entire shopping plazas and malls on the mountain. The mountain owners and operators take care of the hills while the lodge operators keep their surrounding areas clean and free of any environmentally unsound conditions. This coalition operates year-round and so far no one has ever lodged a complaint about our efforts. Velocity is proud to be part of this effort, and we hope it catches on in other recreational areas of the US.

Velocity SnowGear Announces Mid-Winter Board'n Camp at Keystone

Modeled after the ever popular basketball and soccer camps, (but without all the whining!), Velocity's director of marketing has created a well-defined, very busy, one-week board'n camp open to all levels of riders. The camp begins on Monday, December 17th and finishes up on Friday, the 21st. This gives most people a chance to attend during the Christmas break. The weeklong camp package includes lodging, meals, lift tickets, and classes. Boards, boots, clothes and other gear can be rented from us at reduced rates. (Complete details in the table below.)

Each person will be evaluated at the beginning of the week and placed into the appropriate group based on abilities and experience levels. All non-board riders MUST begin in the New-Dudes group, no exceptions. The other groups are Novice Dudes, Intermediate Dudes, and Top Dogs. Each group has it's own very specific training schedule so you are encouraged to make every session in order to make progress. More details about the camp schedule and how the training sessions operate once you're under our authoritarian rule, (Yuk-yuk!) If you are under 18, you MUST have parental consent to attend this camp. Details are in the enrollment package.

We know everyone will really enjoy this camp, it is designed to be fun, fun, fun! Come join us and see what we mean. To enroll in the 2001 Mid-Winter Camp de Velocity, link to the entry form at the top of the page and follow the instructions. We are looking forward to having you here so get with it. Space is limited and the Camp is filling up fast. (This ain't no bull!) Enrollment is first-come, first-served.
