Camp Dream lies on 74 acres adjacent to FDR's Little White House Rich in history, the land was the site of the U.S. Marine encampment during Roosevelt's stays there as President of the United States.
The focal point of Camp Dream is the beautiful 12 acre Lake Dream. Stocked with several types of fish, Lake Dream is a favorite relaxation spot. In addition to fishing, swimming and small boat sailing are also popular pastimes on the lake. Other camping activities include hiking, basketball, softball, volleyball, archery, pool swimming, horseback riding, campfires, and a host of other activities. Additionally, over a a mile of paved nature trails are available, all accessible for persons with disabilities. In addition to Camp Dream, The Center for Therapeutic Recreation at Warm Springs, includes a 400 meter track, field complex, and a 70,000 square foot indoor recreational building. This indoor facility includes a 6-lane 25-meter swimming pool, bowling lanes, walking track, basketball court, racquetball courts, fitness room, arts and crafts rooms, and more All of these facilities are available to Camp Dream attendees. Camp Dream can accommodate up to 100 campers and staff. Future plans double that capacity and add additional facilities. Open in 1995, Camp Dream provides a world-class facility like no other in Georgia. |
